Sarkozy: States should be "at the global level" to jointly deal with financial crisis

French President Nicolas Sarkozy called on Beijing in 24 Asian and European countries to work together to deal with common challenges such as the financial crisis.
Sarkozy in the afternoon at the Seventh Asia-Europe summit opening ceremony that the current world situation has just happened as a result of an unprecedented financial crisis and the deterioration of the crisis, the sudden, very serious, have developed rapidly. He said that in the upcoming Nov. 15 meeting of the international financial summit, the Europeans will speak with one voice, introduced the initiative after careful consideration. "We hope that Asian countries will support us in this endeavor ... ... We hope that this crisis will not be repeated, on the monetary system and financial system to develop a common response."
Sarkozy also said that the development of the environmental crisis brought about by the tremendous impact it has become the challenge of the future of mankind. He said that Asia and Europe are now facing a common problem is how to deal with great challenges, "We have no choice but to work together."
He said that Europe needs of Asia's rapid economic growth, the Asian people's wisdom and creativity; Asia and Europe also need the skills, experience and stability.
Sarkozy said that the Asia-Europe Meeting, 12-year history, has made a lot of progress, but there is still a lot to do in order to make the meeting "is not only an opportunity to exchange and decision-making is a good opportunity."
Seventh Asia-Europe summit in 24 to 25 in Beijing. The current meeting will focus on "dialogue and cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win" theme, on the international economic and financial situation, cooperation in disaster relief and food security, sustainable development, international and regional situations, strengthening dialogue among civilizations on issues such as exchange of views.

  萨科齐在当日下午举行的第七届亚欧首脑会议开幕式上说,当前世界形势因刚刚发生的一次前所未有的金融危机而恶化,这场危机突如其来、极为严重、发展迅速。虽源自美国,但已经成为全球性危机,“应当从全球层面应对”。
  他表示,在即将于11月15日召开的国际金融峰会上,欧洲人将用一个声音说话,推出经过深思熟虑的倡议。“希望亚洲国家能够支持我们的这一努力……我们希望这场危机不再重演,将就货币体系和金融体系制定共同对策”。
萨科齐还提及发展的危机给环境带来的巨大影响,称其已成为人类未来的挑战。他表示,亚洲和欧洲目前面临的问题是如何才能共同应对巨大挑战,“我们没有选择,必须共同努力”。
  他表示,欧洲需要亚洲快速的经济增长、亚洲人民的智慧和创造力;而亚洲也需要欧洲的技术、经验和稳定。
  萨科齐表示,亚欧会议已有12年的历史,取得了很多进步,但仍有许多事情要做,以使这一会议“不仅仅是一次交流的机会,而且是决策的良机”。
  第七届亚欧首脑会议于24日至25日在北京举行。本届会议将围绕“对话合作,互利共赢”的主题,就国际经济金融形势、粮食安全及救灾合作、可持续发展、国际和地区形势、加强不同文明对话等议题交换意见。
